Jorge Garaje proposes a new national unit of measurement called the "pilar," inspired by the height of the mantle of the Virgin of the Pilar, the patron saint of Spain. This measurement, equivalent to 36.5 cm in the International System, is rooted in religious tradition and is presented as a new perspective for units of length. Historically, the meter has been a universally agreed-upon measure, but Jorge suggests that local measurements like the pilar also hold significant value. The "pilar" retains not only a religious and aesthetic function but is also established as a practical and objective measurement. Science and religion, united in a new way of measuring: measure in pilars.
